PINGO for Child Learning

By Clint Bestion

Pingo, one of the rising stars in the world of Iphone and Ipad apps is the hottest thing in town hugely because of its highly engaging, interesting and most importantly, its highly educational game elements. While Pingo gets the nod of most mothers of 1-2 year old children because it is an obviously educational exercise, I would just like to highlight what Pingo does for your 1-2 year old child's language development.

To begin with, Pingo comes with a platform which makes use of the different letters of the alphabet and how they sound phonetically. The child is then given a chance to correlate this with examples of objects which begin with the letters.

Just how valuable is such an app? In today's day and age of ever challenging distractions around your son or your daughter's childhood, this could mean a lot. When at home, your child is indeed exposed to a set of sounds in the language that the people around him or her. Unfortunately, this is a very limited environment in terms of exposure.

Pingo comes with a more comprehensive presentation of the alphabet that will surely keep your 1-2 year old child interested for many hours in one sitting. It also contains carefully selected key sounds that will pave the way for your child to have an easier appreciation of the English language later on. Learning the alphabet is essential before learning how to spell and form words. Only by then can your child construct simple sentences and later on more complex ones.

Pingo also comes very cheap. At $ 0.99 you have a very cheap way of preparing your child for bigger challenges in learning language. That is priceless.

PINGO and mathematics

Who among you did not dread Mathematics at some point in your childhood? Well, perhaps not everyone had a profound difficulty with Math... But for most of us, Math did give us its share of school scares. Whether it was with Algebra, Geometry or Calculus, Mathematics has that chilling effect on us.

This is even true for today's children. It is not unheard of to have a child avoid school because of a dreaded Math quiz. At some point, this develops into an irrational fear. The truth is that this is such a waste of something that can otherwise be wonderful. There is actually so much that can be enjoyed in Mathematics and numbers. And that is why in order for kids nowadays to have an irrational fear of Math, they should make it a more familiar part of their daily environment. One of the ways by which this can be achieved is by exposing your child to Math early.

Pingo is becoming a very popular app because of this. Pingo was actually designed to educate children 1-2 years of age with its easy to use drag and drop function. Pingo particularly gets its popularity because it allows children to be less fearful of mathematics. It comes with an educational platform which is actually a very enjoyable game for 1-2 year old kids.

Presenting numbers in an easy to absorb way can actually come in handy especially when your child reaches formal education in Mathematics. The makers of Pingo have been conscious about this in their creation of a tool which prepares your child for numbers and later on on their relationships with each other. It is very cheap too, at $1.99 for you Iphone or your Ipad
