Any World of Warcraft player who have used the warrior as their chosen class may have experienced a frustrating moment when Blizzard made a controversial decision to nerf some of the warrior's abilities. "Nerf" is the elimination of skills and talents that Blizzard feels have become too powerful and therefore gives the players an unfair advantage over other players. This was the case for players of the warrior class in Wrath of the Lich King. Warrior players were dominating players of other classes in PvP competition due to their powerful abilities and high damage attacks.
There is some good news though, with the release of the latest installment Cataclysm. Warriors in Cataclysm are given back much of the skills that were originally removed. In addition, the warrior class now also have some new abilities that can be gained through their talent tree.
Arms will continue to dominate as the best spec for the Warrior. This enables the Warrior to use maneuvers like Mortal Strike, which according to consensus, is pound for pound the most powerful wound strike across every class. Extra damage can be implemented with the addition of gushing wound, which stacks when the affected victim moves.
With the Cataclysm expansion comes new skills to experiment with. For the mighty Warrior, one of the new skills is the very destructive Colossus Smash, which penetrates through enemy armor, leaving the enemy vulnerable for up to six seconds. This is a skill that players of all other classes need to watch for and be weary of. Warriors can now also use the Heroic Leap ability. This skill allows them to jump into the fray from out of range distances.
Warriors are such a fun and bad ass class to use because of their ability to dish out such a high amount of damage every time they strike. The warrior's talent tree have been changed by Blizzard so that the Arms warrior will be the only spec that can be build for PvP. There are the arrival of brand new talents as well. One of these is the Lamb of Slaughter which comes to play after using Mortal Strike and is capable of doing extra damage. The total damage will vary and is dependent on the points you have for that talent.
If you play as the Warrior, pray that Blizzard will not butt in and nerf these new abilites as they did in Lich King. Assuming that Blizzard does nothing and let these abilities remain with the Warrior in Cataclysm, they will dominate in PvP combat and remain at the top of the chain for damage, which is what they have always been noted for.
