Why I Play Video Games

By Mike Allen

Since they first hit the market video games have been the favorite of children as well as adults. There does not seem to be an end to people playing video games in the near future. Kids are not the only ones who play games, the older generation is also involved.

Part of growing up is learning how to play games. Kids are able to make a game out of just about anything. Playing games can bring a smile to just about anyone's face. Video games attraction is that they are full of action and three dimensional in nature, they can be played alone, have fascinating graphics, and are fast paced and when a person considers the different gaming consoles like the xbox 360 kinect, the Nintendo Wii, and the Playstation move, the way that we enjoy playing games is constantly evolving and will be sure to provide a person with even more excitement in the future.

Because of the growing nature of the business and with the excitement that was generated by the recent xbox 360 kinect release date it is a good time to look at the reasons that people are playing video games and what keeps bringing people back to the screen for more.

1) Games require a person to think and to move around. Gamers have to learn to react quickly in order for them to be successful.

2) Video games exercise the eyes. There is a direct correlation between improved eyesight and how much a person plays.

3) Video games help a person's body shape. With the new motion gaming systems, they also provide a child with some needed physical activity.

4) Gamers have been able to get better grades. This is especially true in math. Gamers have to learn how to think to excel at many games.

5.) Playing games will allow a child to get away from reality. Children are able to comprehend the flow of a story as well as its bases. Gaming can allow a kid to dream big while they are playing. Game play can allow a person to do things that they might not have the resources or ability to accomplish any other way.

6) Many games nurture logical skills. Many games require a person to plan what they are going to do before they execute it.

7) gamers are taught many things while they play. Kids learn a lot about many different topics as they play.

8) Gamers have to think analytically as they play. It is something that will help a youngster with many things throughout their entire life.

9) Gamers will learn how to focus better and improve their reflexes. Children are able to focus on the games. Gamers learn to focus on the screen even if things keep going on around them as they play.

10) Gaming improves social skills. People learn to play as a group. They learn how to compete against others fairly. In addition to competitive games gamers can play games that require them to work together.

Not everyone agrees there is a place for video games in the world today. That does not matter. They help the kid's process information faster and to take decisions rapidly. Any time a child succeeds at anything they should be praised. Kids will be able to take the good parts of video games and use them when they are older. As long as a person keeps their gaming in balance with their life they will enjoy it. Just like most things, an excess is not healthy. It is up to the adult to teach a child how to balance the different aspects. People should not let video games dominate their personality. It can not define a person.

Make Money Selling Used Computer Games

By Musa Aykac

Making some extra money is something that a lot of us will be trying to do these days. Most of us will have old video games stored away somewhere, and what you might not realise is that there are people out there willing to pay good money for these. Retro games are really popular at the moment, and you might be surprised at how much some of these will fetch.

The following are some ideas about how you could make some money by selling off your old second hand computer games.

- If you have a few computer games then it is up to you to decide whether you are going to sell them as a package or one by one. Selling your games one by one will probably mean that you will make more money but it will take you longer to sell them and may be more hassle. Selling the old console with the games if you have one that works might be a good idea.

- EBay is a great website for those who are trying to get rid of old items in a hurry. The great thing about eBay is that it is so easy to use and the popularity of it means that there will always be people on there looking for things to buy. Another website that you could sell your items on is Craigslist.

- You may not want to sell your items online and if so you could always try the old fashioned methods such as advertising in the classifieds or in a local shop. These days everyone is selling online, but a lot of people still prefer to purchasing things the traditional way.

This means that you miss out on a lot of potential customers if you only advertise online, and you won't benefit from the lack of competition.

Dude! Did You Know That It's Now Possible to Copy Wii Games?

By Mark Ling

Often people that own a Nintendo Wii game console are curious to find out how to copy Wii games. Once they find out, yet another concern is "Is it lawful to rip games?"

The initial answer is an unequivocal "Absolutely!" It is undeniably legal to back up Nintendo Wii video games. However the more in depth response is a tad bit more complex, and I will address that in the follow paragraphs.

Whatever you may have heard, you can safely ignore if it says that it isn't legal. This is because the question was answered once and for all in 2010 by the Congressional Library (they are in charge of DRM law). They said that it is legal to do just about anything that you fancy with your digital media.

This encompasses games, music, and movies and all other types of media. In fact, it is suggested that users burn media, immediately after purchase. By doing this, you makes sure that a copy exists in the event the master is stolen, damaged, or lost. Additionally, the copy can be used instead, while the master is stored in a safe place. Bottom line: there is currently no lawful recourse for backing up games. The CIA will not show up knocking down your front door, or penalize you zillions of dollars.

There is, however, a problem to address if you wish to learn how to copy Wii games. You will require the use of an application software program that can erase any copyright protections. The manufacturers place these restrictions on the games, as an attempt to prevent the user from backing up the games and vending or permanently lending the games to friends. They can do nothing to completely eliminate this problem, but they can make it difficult. The restrictions themselves are entirely legal, but removing them is equally as legitimate. So to assist those persons out there who do not want to damage their originals, application software companies have invented programs that can accomplish this task in a prompt manner, and quite easily as well.

Can You Play Copied Wii Games With a Mod Chip?

By Butch Skipjohn

If you've done any research into how to copy wii games before finding this site, you've undoubtedly come across the term "mod chip."

But in case you haven't heard of one before, let's talk about what a mod chip is. A mod chip is a type of computer chip that gets installed inside video game consoles, such as the Wii. They let you do things that Nintendo corporation didn't necessarily mean for you to be able to do, such as

install the homebrew channel, create your own games, and play copied or burned games.

Installing a mod chip isn't the easiest procedure, however. Some specific problems can arise when you use one. Let's talk about these issues quickly. When you install a mod chip in your Wii, you have to realize that your warranty is instantly null and void. Another problem is that mod chips can be quite expensive. I recently saw one sell on eBay for almost $200.00. Finally, as I said before, it can be a bit tricky to get one installed properly.

The Two Types of Mod Chips

I'll elucidate them briefly. The first type has been around almost since the Wii was launched. These are the type of chips that you have to actually sodder on to the motherboard with a soldering gun. To accomplish this, you must crack your Wii open, sodder it on with heat, and then do a complete firmware upgrade.

Using heat inside of your precious Wii isn't for cowardly! However, it's important to note that these types of chips are a little cheaper than the 2nd flavor.

The 2nd model of chip is brand new this year. This type of chip clips onto the motherboard. It's not permanently attached, so if you ever need or want to install a different chip, it's very easy to do so. You do still have to open up your console, so your warranty is still void. Just something to keep in mind.

One issue that has been reported with using these type of chips as a solution to copy wii games is that sometimes they can come loose. When this happens, you just have to get out your toolkit and reopen the Wii to fix it.
