SWTOR is a new MMO that has really taken off this year. However, for those who are used to the MMO genre, you know how long and boring it can be to level. Sadly, this is the same even for Star Wars. While the storyline is amazing, the grind is still pretty boring. I decided to pick up a strategy guide and it helped me level so fast. I normally can't play that often, but I still leveled in just two days and had amazing gear.
I normally don't use a strategy guide, but I am really glad I did this time. I got a great start and leveled so fast. It was amazing to hit max level faster than I have ever did in any other game. While leveling is great for a storyline, I love getting into the end game content. I am not one who really likes the lore of the game all that much. Hitting level 50 in two days was amazing and my toon was strong enough to jump into groups and PvP. This is because I knew exactly the right path to get to all of my quests, where to find NPCs and where to get the best gear. Now, I am able to relax and play with my friends instead of catching up for the whole month.
My progression in SWTOR was very smooth
Leveling in every MMO is virtually the same. You're sent out on some boring grindfest to kill a hundred creatures and it is very boring. Guides allowed me to level more quickly because I knew exactly where mobs spawned. Even with the in-game NPC interactions, it wasn't fast enough. I found myself stuck looking for mobs to kill or dying over and over. Hard to locate quest items are always marked and bosses are no longer a mystery to find. It is much simpler to look in my guide, find the location of my quest and go in and finish it. I don't have to waste a second of my precious time by trying to locate my quest objectives.
The right build for your character means all of the difference. How often have you found that you are missing one of the most important abilities for your character? It stinks and can be really embarrassing when advanced players make fun of you. Whether you are a tank, dps or healer, everything is much easier when a leveling guide covers all of the basic builds. There is no doubt that a proper specialization allows you to level much faster.
If you have ever played World of Warcraft, you know how tedious it is to level professions. Crew skills are the same way. They let you make amazing pieces of gear, but you have to grind to get all of the resources for everything. However, it is much faster to just send your companions out to get everything for you. My guide listed everything I needed and even what planet all of the resources were found on. So, instead of wasting my time farming, my companions did all the work for me. It was truly a fun experience to run around with awesome gear that they went farming for.
Playing PvP is always one of my most favorite parts of a MMO. I get to match my skills against other players and learn from them. It makes everyone an overall better player. I was able to learn vital tactics from a strategy guide that allowed me to kill a ton of people in every Warzone.
