The domain of graphic design and animation has numerous career paths or lines that one can pick. The bottom line is that you need to be passionate about what you are doing.

The fact here is that if you pick up what you are passionate about your chances of excelling and hence success is quite high. There are so many options to consider when it comes to picking up a career path in animation.

Character animation is one of grand options. This job entails working in 2D or 3D or perhaps in some other dimensions and concepts yet to be known. The domains of graphic design and animation have numerous career paths or lines that one can pick. The bottom line again is that you need to be passionate about what you are getting into. The animation domain experienced radical developments in 1942 at the Walter Disney Studio. From then character animation has never been the same. Animators have been implementing the developed principles on their designs with unlimited options in stylistic variations and this cuts across the spectrum right from complete animation up to low budget animation for the web or TV.

What you need to know if you are interested in this career path is that a character animator is a journeyman who has to keep accumulating experience and upgrading his expertise over time. At this point you need to know the kinds of skills and capabilities that are required for one to be a character animator. He advises that those interested in this career path have top try to attend a school that tutors the fundamentals of character animations.

Now the fundamentals of character animation includes, painting, figure drawing, sculpting as well as art history. This has to be leveraged on traditional animation. Well versed animators advise that if you learn nothing else at least learn to draw a compete human figure. The daily duties of a character animator entail acting on the scenes given to you by your director which will basically involve animating the characters assigned to you by the director. In this regard deadlines are an important factor. You have to stick to the stipulated timeframe and make sure you are done on time.
